Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to pull-off an unprecedented third straight election victory, with a full majority for his coalition, according to exit polls released on Saturday. The National Democratic Alliance is projected to increase its Lok Sabha strength from 352 in 2019 to 361, based on an averaging of key exit polls.

The alliance is set to retain its hold over much of northern, central and western India, while improving on its performance in the east and south.

The opposition INDIA bloc is expected to win under 150 seats, as per exit polls.

The Lok Sabha elections were conducted for 543 seats in seven phases between April 19 and June 1. The majority mark is 272.

In 2014, the NDA secured 336 seats, which increased to 352 in the next election. BJP went up from 282 to 303 in this period.

Exit Poll 2024 Results Live: BJP Clean Sweep Likely In Three States; NDA Leads Over TMC In West Bengal

The polls show BJP repeating its clean sweep in states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Assam, Rajasthan, and Karnataka; while adding to its kitty in West Bengal, Odisha and Telangana; and opening its account in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The Congress is expected to keep its lead in Kerala and Punjab, while the alliance with the DMK under the INDIA fold is likely to retain its majority in Tamil Nadu.

Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party and ally Congress could again fail to win a single seat in Delhi, exit polls predict.

In hotly-contested Maharashtra, where dynamic local alliances have made it the hardest to read, the opposition can scoop up more than one-third of the seats, the exit polls indicate. Although, the BJP is expected to maintain its turf, losses in the NDA can come from allies Shiv Sena and NCP.
