Bhartiya Janta Party Chief JP Nadda stated on Saturday that his party will secure over 370 Lok Sabha seats, with the NDA clinching over 400.

He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, asserting, "People have voted for a capable, powerful, developed, and self-reliant India, sidelining appeasement, nepotism, and corruption."

Nadda's statement coincides with the culmination of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the lengthiest in history.

Approximately 57.78 crore voters cast their ballots in the initial six phases, out of nearly 100 crore eligible electors. As the final phase concluded, with a voter turnout nearing 60% by 5 p.m., official results are scheduled for announcement on Tuesday.

Asserting that Prime Minister Modi's endeavours are bearing fruit, Nadda expressed confidence, stating, "I firmly believe that Indian voters will propel BJP to secure more than 370 seats and the NDA to exceed 400 seats under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership."

Nadda also extended gratitude to BJP leaders, including Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari, along with 'millions of party workers', for their contributions during the elections.

The world's largest democratic exercise drew to a close at 6 p.m. on June 1, after running for a record 44 days from April 19 to June 1, with nearly 1 billion eligible voters.

The elections for the 543 contested Lok Sabha seats saw BJP-led NDA and Congress-led INDIA bloc facing off against each other.

Phase 7 of the elections saw a voter turnout of approximately 59.05% across the country, whereas Phase 6 and Phase 5 recorded 63.36% and 62.2% turnout, respectively.
