GIC Housing Finance Isolates Systems To 'Stop Further Impact' From Cyberattack
A detailed investigation is underway in consultation with stakeholders to assess the root cause, and take remedial action as necessary, the company said.
A malware attack at GIC Housing Finance Ltd. has affected some of the company's end user systems, it informed exchanges on Thursday.
No operations of the housing finance company, which has a net worth of Rs 1,828.83 crore as on March 31, have been disrupted. But, GIC Housing Finance has "isolated the affected systems from the network to stop further impact", it said.
A detailed investigation is underway in consultation with relevant stakeholders to assess the root cause, and take remedial action as necessary, the company said.
In the January-March quarter, GIC Housing Finance reported a 2.56% year-on-year rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 53.67 crore, as compared with Rs 52.33 crore a year ago.
The company's net consolidated total income stood at Rs 265.54 crore in Q4, down 7.61% in the same quarter last year.
