Bandhan Bank Appoints Ratan Kumar Kesh As Interim CEO

He will be taking over from Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, who will be retiring on July 9 upon completion of his current tenure.

Bandhan Bank Ltd. has appointed Ratan Kumar Kesh as interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Director. Kesh will take charge from July 10.

He will be taking over from Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, who will be retiring on July 9 upon completion of his current tenure, the bank said in an exchange filing on Saturday.

The appointment was made after the approval from the Reserve Bank of India and the recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Kesh is currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer and has around three decades of experience across industries. He has held the position of Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer since March 31, 2023. He is leading multiple functions including Technology, Operations, Customer Experience, Transformation, Internal Audit, Recovery, and other support functions.

He was part of the core team to lead organisation transformation, with technology, digital, governance, quality, and customer focus during his tenure at ICICI Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., Yes Bank Ltd., and Axis Bank Ltd.

Bandhan Bank's total deposits rose 22.8% on a yearly basis to Rs 1.33 lakh crore in the April–June quarter, according to provisional figures released by the bank.

Shares of Bandhan Bank closed 1.76% lower on Friday at Rs 204.30 apiece, as compared to a 0.07% decline in the BSE Sensex.
