Wheat procurement during the ongoing Rabi marketing season 2021-22 reached 432.83 metric tonnes till June 27, 2021, which is an all time high. Procurement during last year's corresponding period was 386.83 metric tonnes.
According to data released by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the latest wheat procurement figures have exceeded the previous high of 389.92 metric tonnes.
Meanwhile wheat procurement in Rajasthan has reached all time high of 23.19 metric tonnes, an official statement by the ministry said.
About 49.07 lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing Rabi marketing season procurement operations with minimum support price of Rs 85,483.25 crore, it added further.
