The issue of US visa fee hike was not discussed during the just concluded India visit of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a State Department spokesperson said on Thursday.

When asked if the issue was discussed during Clinton's India trip, the State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland said "No" at her daily news briefing.

"As the Secretary (of State) said publicly - Indians are the greatest beneficiaries in the world of both our L-1 visa programme and our B-1/H-1 visa programme. We understand that the demand is even greater. We're working through those issues.

But we continue to fully support the admission of qualified Indians under these programmes," Nuland said in response to a question.
