Vedanta Group's Market Capitalisation Surges To Around Rs 4.5 Lakh Crore

Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc boost Vedanta Group's market cap to nearly Rs 4.5 lakh crore.

Vedanta Group, which includes both Vedanta Ltd. and Hindustan Zinc Ltd., gained a cumulative market capitalisation of Rs 14,490.42 crore on Thursday.

With this addition, the combined market capitalisation of Vedanta Group is nearly Rs 4.5 lakh crore.

The market capitalisation of Vedanta is Rs 1.75 lakh crore, as it added Rs 8,363.83 crore to its market cap on Thursday. Similarly, the market capitalisation of Hindustan Zinc is Rs 2.73 lakh crore, as it added Rs 6,126.71 crore to its market cap during Thursday's trading session.

On Thursday, Vedanta approved raising Rs 1,000 crore via bonds on a private placement basis.

In a meeting, the board-constituted committee of directors considered and approved the raising of secured, rated, listed and redeemable non-convertible debentures with a face value of Rs 1 lakh each, according to an exchange filing.

Shares of Vedanta closed 4.86% higher at Rs 470.25 apiece, as compared with a 0.18% rise in the benchmark BSE Sensex.
