Tata Punch, Nexon EVs Score Five Stars In Bharat NCAP’s First EV Crash Tests

Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari says Bharat NCAP ratings are an invaluable tool for ensuring safer vehicles in India, after Tata Punch.ev and Nexon.ev scored five stars in their crash tests.

India’s best-selling electric cars are also the safest, according to a new crash test.

The Punch.ev and Nexon.ev electric SUVs, from the stable of Tata Motors Ltd., scored five stars in the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme, with near-perfect scores for both adult and child protection, according to the crash test results disclosed on Thursday.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, made a note of the crash test results on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). A strong Bharat NCAP rating serves as an invaluable tool for consumers in selecting safer vehicles, he said.
