The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stayed the suspension of the license of the sister company of Som Distilleries and Breweries Ltd. due to concerns about child labour.

Normal operations at the plant commenced on Friday after the decision by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Som Distilleries and Breweries said in an exchange filing on Monday.

Last month, the Madhya Pradesh government temporarily suspended the license of Som Distilleries Pvt., which is part of the Som Group. This came after as many as 50 children, including 20 girls, were rescued from its factory in Raisen district.

The makers of Hunter and Woodpecker beer blamed contractors of its associate company for the child labour issues and terminated the vendor's services. The associate firm, which deals in country liquor, reportedly failed to properly verify the ages of its workers.
