Promoter Of Piramal Enterprises Divests 4.54% Stake

Srikrishna Trust offloaded 1.08 crore shares for Rs 976.5 crore through an open market transaction.

Promoter of Piramal Enterprises Ltd. —Srikrishna Trust sold a 4.54% stake in the company for Rs 976.5 crore through an open market transaction on Wednesday.

Srikrishna Trust offloaded 1.08 crore shares, which were bought by promoter Anutham Realty Pvt. for Rs 900.8 apiece, according to block deal data on the NSE.

As of March 2024, Srikrishna Trust through its trustee—Ajay G Piramal and Dr. Swati A Piramal held a 35.11% stake in the company. Ajay Piramal and Swati Piramal are also part of the promoter groups.

Piramal Enterprises is a leading non-banking financial company registered with the Reserve Bank of India. It is present across retail lending, wholesale lending, and fund-based platforms. 

On Thursday, the equity markets witnessed a record session of deals worth over Rs 20,800 crore, among other small trades.

Shares of Piramal Enterprises closed 0.22% lower at Rs 898.20 apiece on the BSE, as compared with a 0.05% rise in the benchmark Sensex.
