Hospitality major Oyo announced the opening of its first luxury hotel in Dubai, the Palette Royal Reflections Hotel and Spa, on Monday. This move comes as the IPO-bound unicorn aims to enhance its premium property portfolio globally.

Oyo is anticipating a significant increase in the number of Indian tourists visiting Dubai, expecting over 1 lakh visitors in 2024. This projection follows Dubai's recent relaxation of its visa policy for Indian nationals.

"Dubai has long been a favourite destination for Indian travellers, thanks to its luxury shopping, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture. The launch comes as the emirate prepares to welcome a record number of Indian tourists in 2024," Oyo said.

The initiative is part of Oyo's ongoing efforts to strengthen its premium property footprints across the world, including the Middle East.

Oyo currently operates over 700 properties in the UAE, with more than 200 located in Dubai alone.

India remains the largest source of tourists for Dubai, with 11.9 million Indian visitors in 2023, surpassing Saudi Arabia's 6.7 million and the UK's 5.9 million tourists.

Nitin Gupta, business head, Oyo Middle East, told PTI, "We have been seeing a surge in the number of Indian tourists asking for luxury accommodation in the region. Oyo plans to meet the requirements of tourists visiting Dubai through this initiative."
