NMDC Iron Ore Production Drops By 3.2% To 3.37 Metric Tonne

The June sales of iron ore fell by 9% to 3.73 metric tonne as against 4.10 metric tonne in the same period last year.

NMDC Ltd.'s monthly production of iron ore for the month of June has dropped by 3.2% to 3.37 metric tonnes as compared with the same period last year at 3.48 metric tonnes.

The sales of iron ore in June fell by 9% to 3.73 metric tonnes, as against 4.10 metric tonnes in the same period last year, according to an exchange filing on Monday.

The production of iron ore in the Chhattisgarh and Karnataka units saw a drop at 2.21 metric tonnes and 1.16 metric tonnes, respectively, as compared with the same period last year at 2.29 metric tonnes and 1.19 metric tonnes, respectively. The sales figures at the Chhattisgarh unit stood at 2.68 metric tonnes, and those for the Karnataka unit were at 1.05 metric tonnes.

The cumulative production data until the month of June stands at 9.19 metric tonnes year-on-year, while the total sales of iron ore stood at 10.07 metric tonnes YoY.

Shares of NMDC closed 2.23% higher at Rs 251.65 apiece, as compared with a 0.56% rise in the benchmark BSE Sensex.
