Jio Hikes Tariff By 12-25%, Introduces New Unlimited 5G Data Plans
The tariff hike will be effective from July 3, the company said in an exchange filing.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. has announced a hike in tariff ranging between 12.5-25% on existing plans and has also introduced new plans.
The tariff hike will be effective July 3, the company said in an exchange filing.
"The introduction of new plans is a step in the direction of furthering industry innovation and driving sustainable growth through investments in 5G and AI technology," Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said in a statement.
"Ubiquitous, high-quality, affordable internet is the backbone of Digital India and Jio takes pride in contributing to this," he said.
This is the first time the Mukesh Ambani-backed telecom company has raised tariffs after the last hike in 2021.
In absolute terms, the annual plan, which was for Rs 2,999, has seen the highest tariff hike of Rs 600 and is now priced at Rs 3,599. Meanwhile, the smallest tariff hike is in the one-month plan of Rs 155, which will now cost Rs 189.
The telecom operator has hiked tariffs on postpaid plans as well by nearly 12.5–17%. Unlimited 5G data will be available on all 2GB per day and above plans, it said.
However, JioBharat and JioPhone users will continue to enjoy the existing plans, according to the statement.

JioTranslate: AI-powered multilingual communication app for translating voice calls, voice messages, text and images (priced at Rs 99 per month).
