How To Check Provident Fund (PF) Balance, View Passbook Via Umang App
Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (Umang) app, one-stop solution for many government services, allows subscribers to check their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) balance. Employees Provident Fund is a mandatory contribution from the salary of an individual that every organisation with more than 20 employees has to deduct. Users can check their EPF balance, raise claim, check claim status, search establishment, get Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) address and can apply for Jeevan Pramaan certificate via Umang app, which is currently available on google, apple and windows platforms, according to its website - umang.gov.in.
Here are the steps to check Employees Provident Fund (EPF) balance, view passbook via Umang app
Step 1: Download the Umang application from play store
Step 2: Open the app and login using your mobile number. Now, select EPFO services
Step 3: You will be directed to a page which shows employee-centric services, general services, employer-centric services, e-KYC services, and Jeevan Praman. Click on "employee centric services"
Step 4: You will be directed to a page that allows you to view passbook, raise claim and track claim. Click on "view passbook"
Step 5: Now, enter your UAN (Universal Account Number). Universal Account Number, which acts as an umbrella for multiple member IDs allotted to an individual, is mentioned in the monthly salary slips of the employees.
Step 6: Click on 'Get OTP'. Enter the one time password (OTP) received on your registered mobile number
Step 7: Select the member ID of the company for which you want to check the EPF balance. Your passbook will be displayed on the screen along with your EPF balance
