Hindustan Construction Bags Order Worth Rs 278 Crore
New Delhi: Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has secured a contract worth Rs 278 crore from the Public Works Department (PWD) of New Delhi.
The order involves building of a 2.3-km flyover parallel to the existing single-carriageway on Rao Tula Ram Marg, a key south Delhi link to the airport, along with construction of an underpass at Benito Juarez Marg and a skywalk, the engineering firm said in a statement on Monday.
The new three-lane flyover will commence from the existing Munirka flyover and run parallel to the RTR flyover before descending near Niryat Bhawan, it said.
This is the fourth order bagged by the firm in a month with the total order book at Rs 1,306 crore, HCC said.
It has received two contracts from Ministry of Road Transport and Highway worth Rs 848 crore and a contract from Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd worth Rs Rs 179.90 crore, the company added.
Besides, the company has lowest bids worth Rs 1,470 crore for which the contracts are yet to be awarded.
"Majority of the orders that HCC has received in the last one month has come from the transportation sector, reflecting thereby the renewed focus of the government on the speedy growth of infrastructure," HCC president and CEO Arun Karambelkar said.
