HCL Infosystems appoints two independent directors on board

IT hardware solutions firm HCL Infosystems on Tuesday announced appointment of two independent non-executive directors on its board.
 
The company has appointed Sangeeta Talwar, former president (South Asia) at Tata Beverages Group, and Kaushik Dutta, former partner at PwC, as its independent non-executive directors, it said in a statement.
 
Ms Talwar, who was instrumental in creation of Nestle's popular Maggi brand and 'Jago Re' campaign for Tata Tea, in a career spanning over 30 years, has served on boards of Tata Tea, Tata Coffee, Eight O'clock Coffee (USA), Oriental Hotels and Mother Dairy, the statement added.
 
She also held positions like Mattel India CEO and managing director, Tata Tea executive director and NDDB Dairy Services managing director.
 
Mr Dutta, a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers after spending over 22 years in the practice out of which 17 years have been as a partner.
 
He is associated as an expert on corporate governance with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (Ministry of Corporate Affairs).
 
He has also worked with international organisations including Conference Board of the US, Asian Development Bank, Institute of Directors UK, Asian Institute of Corporate Governance and the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor Genera of India.
 
"The wealth of experience and broad range of knowledge that both leaders possess will contribute immensely to the growth and profitability of our company," HCL Infosystems CEO and managing director Harsh Chitale said.
