With Happy New Year, Shah Rukh Khan Targets More Box-Office Records
Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year is set to break more box-office records. Happy New Year's total gross collection in its six days of release has touched Rs 274 crore, says a report from trade website Koimoi.com. Giving a break-up of Happy New Year's box-office collection, the report said it made a Rs 214 crore (gross) at the domestic box office and another Rs 60 crore in the overseas circuit.
This has catapulted Happy New Year to the list of all-time top 10 Bollywood grossers. After this weekend, Happy New Year's collection is expected to cross the Rs 300 crore, says the report.
Released on Friday, Happy New Year also set new box-office records for first day as well as opening week collections.
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Farah Khan, Happy New Year is a heist drama.
Speaking on the success of the film, Red Chillies Entertainment CEO Venky Mysore said, "Happy New Year has set another new benchmark. We are grateful for the ongoing love and support of audience."
Happy New Year also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, and Vivaan Shah.
