Godrej Consumer Sees Double-Digit Volume Growth Across Home, Personal Care Segments In Q1

The company's domestic business saw high-single digit organic volume growth and mid-single digit value growth.

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. expects double-digit volume growth and high-single digit growth in value terms across home care and personal care segments in the quarter-ended June, according to provisional business updates released on Monday.

The company's domestic business saw high-single digit organic volume growth and mid-single digit value growth.

  • Demand in household insecticides soft in earlier parts of the quarter due to extreme heatwaves across the country.

  • Park Avenue and KamaSutra brands are performing well post portfolio simplification.

Internationally, the Indonesia business saw high-single digit volume growth and double-digit constant currency sales growth even as depreciation weighed in rupee terms.

Africa, the U.S. and Middle East organic businesses are expected to see double-digit volume decline, partly driven by supply disruption in South Africa led by the shipping crisis. The currency in Nigeria continues to negatively impact rupee sales performance, the Godrej Group company said.

It expects flattish sales in rupee terms, double-digit constant currency sales growth and double-digit reported Ebitda growth at consolidated organic level.

Shares of Godrej Consumer Products closed 3.75% higher at Rs 1,425.8 apiece, as compared to a flat BSE Sensex.
