Auto Sales In June 2024: Tata Motors Declines 8%
Total sales of Tata Motors Ltd. fell 8% year-on-year to 74,147 units last month as all segments of its automotive business suffered, according to an exchange filing on Monday.
Total CV sales down 7% YoY at 31,980 units

For the quarter ended June 30, domestic volumes were up 2% year-on-year at 2.25 lakh units, but that was on the back of a rise in CV sales.

Auto Sales In June 2024: Eicher Motors' CV Business Grows
Total sales of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. rose 10.6% year-on-year to 7,424 units in June 2024 on the back of higher domestic volumes and surge in exports of trucks of all shapes and sizes.
Total sales of the unlited entity of Eicher Motors Ltd. rose 10.6% year-on-year to 7,424 units in June 2024, as against 6,715 units in June 2023, according to an exchange filing on Monday.
Domestic sales rose 9.8% year-on-year to 6,893 units last month, as against 6,277 units a year-ago, the filing showed.
Exports of Eicher trucks and buses rose 68% year-on-year to 421 units, even as international shipments of Volvo Trucks & Buses manufactured in India fell 41.5% from the year-ago period.
Auto Sales In June 2024: Ashok Leyland Declines 2% YoY
Total sales of Ashok Leyland Ltd. fell last month as the cyclicality factor continued to weigh on commercial vehicles.
In June 2024, the company sold a total of 14,940 units, as against 15,221 units in the year-ago period. That translated into a sales decline of 2%, according to an exchange filing on Monday. Local sales declined 1% year-on-year to 14,261 units.

Still, “we closed the first half of 2024 with overall sales growth of 5.68% year-on-year," Tarun Garg, chief operating officer at Hyundai India, said in a statement. "SUVs have contributed strongly, accounting for 66% of our domestic sales. The new Creta has been a key driver for H1 sales with 91,348 units sold, a growth of 11% over same period last year.”
