Apple Chief Tim Cook Plans More Security After Nude Photos Leak: Report

Apple chief Tim Cook has said, the company is planning additional security measures for iCloud, in the wake of the recent celebrity photo scandal, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Tim Cook said Apple will broaden its use of the two-factor authentication security system to avoid future intrusions.

Nude pictures and videos of more than half a dozen celebrities including Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence were leaked in an apparent hack of the iCloud last Sunday.

Apple will alert users through email and push notifications when someone tries to change an account password, restore iCloud data to a new device, or when a device logs into an account for the first time, the report said quoting Tim Cook.

Tim Cook and Apple have their task cut before the crucial launch of its new iPhone next week. Mr Cook has to move quickly restore confidence of customers in Apple's systems' security.

Apple on Tuesday said the attacks that emerged over the weekend on celebrities' iCloud accounts were individually targeted, and that none of the cases it investigated had resulted from a breach of its systems.
Apple iCloud service allows users to store photos and other content and access it from any Apple device.
