Adani Wilmar Ltd. reported a 13% volume growth year-on-year in the April–June quarter of the current fiscal.

The growth was propelled by market-specific strategies in each category aimed at gaining market share, especially in under-indexed markets, according to provisional business updates released on Friday.

Alternate channels including e-commerce, quick commerce and MT maintained their momentum with a 19% volume growth. The volume of branded exports increased by 36% in the first quarter.

Adani Wilmar said that despite the industry facing challenges like decreased out-of-home consumption and seasonal dips in summer demand during the quarter, the edible oils business thrived due to robust execution in sales and distribution, bolstered by the company's ongoing efforts to improve retail penetration.

Segment Performance

  • Branded exports volume grew 36%.

  • Food and FMCG business volume rose 23% after normalisation.

  • Industry essentials business volume declined 8%.

The quarter saw good growth in the rice business, while Adani Wilmar maintained a robust growth trajectory in the wheat business.

Shares of Adani Wilmar closed 0.25% lower at Rs 332.9 apiece, ahead of the announcement, as compared to a flat BSE Sensex.
