Adani Group is set to invest Rs 3,500 crore in two major projects in Madhya Pradesh, which will generate over 3,500 direct and indirect jobs, said Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., at the Regional Industry Conclave 2024 in Gwalior on Wednesday.

Adani emphasised the group's deep commitment to the development vision of both the state and the nation, highlighting their existing investments of Rs 18,250 crore in Madhya Pradesh across sectors like cement, defence, roads, thermal power, renewable energy, and transmission. The group's efforts have already generated 12,000 jobs in the state.

Gwalior is rapidly emerging as a key economic hub due to its growing status as a tourism hotspot, a talent pool, and a vital transportation and trade centre.

"The Adani Defence facility at Gwalior is the country’s largest small arms plant and has positioned Madhya Pradesh as a global hub for small arms manufacturing. And today, I’m proud to announce two more projects," said Adani.

The two new projects announced include a 2 million tonne per annum cement grinding unit in Guna and a state-of-the-art propellant production facility in Shivpuri. The Shivpuri unit aligns with the Aatmanirbharta mission, aimed at transforming India from a defence importer to a defence exporter.

Additionally, the Adani Foundation has impacted 80,000 households and touched 3 lakh lives in Madhya Pradesh through initiatives in healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods, and women empowerment. As part of its ongoing efforts, the Adani Foundation will set up a women-run jacket production centre in Badarwas to further empower local women.

Adani lauded Madhya Pradesh’s growth potential, crediting the state government’s relentless commitment to development, and pledged the group’s continued support in transforming the region into a leading economic force.
