Welcome to the live coverage of September auto sales data from companies. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Hyundai, Mahindra and Mahindra are some of the major companies set to declare their sales data for last month.
Auto Sales Live Updates: Maruti Suzuki Expects Demand In Small Car Segment
GST rate cuts has helped reduce car prices by roughly 8-9% but companies have taken the baton and shown higher cuts in small car space. Prices of entry level cars increased by over 50% due to transition to BS6 which made them unaffordable. This led to a flat growth between FY20-FY25. Maruti bore the brunt of flat sales in this segment.
The segment is expected to see a revival. Speaking to NDTV Profit, Partho Banerjee, Executive Director at Maruti Suzuki said the company is seeing 18,000 bookings a day and strong demand in small car segment.

Auto companies including Ola Electric Mobility Ltd., TVS Motor Company Ltd. among otherss are yet to report their September auto sales data on Wednesday.
Bajaj Auto Ltd., Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Hyundai Motor India Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. have already reproted their numbers.
Tata Motors moved up to second spot in passenger vehicle sales in September, selling 40,594 cars. Mahindra & Mahindra sold 37,015 passenger vehicles in September 2025, meanwhile, Hyundai sold 35,443 units, as per Vahan data.

Earlier, Bajaj Auto Ltd. sweetened the deal for its best-selling Pulsar motorcycles, offering an additional 50% in financing benefits to customers, on top of the recently reduced Goods and Services Tax. The government slashed GST on motorcycles under 350cc from 28% to 18% effective Sept. 22.

GST rate cuts were to offset a surge in festive sales for sectors like cars, bikes, electronics and more. While some sectors see the trickle-down of the impact, the two-wheeler segment is yet to see some action.
Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto, though, is not worried at all, as he believes that the GST rate cut will bring in festive sales that are better than the sales last year.
